Harley-Davidson will finally pull the wraps off its upcoming adventure bike – the Pan America on 22nd February. With this bike, the American brand will enter the highly competitive ADV segment.
The Pan America was first unveiled as a prototype at the 2019 EICMA Show and garnered a lot of attention, thanks to its rugged design language. This ADV will get its power from new 1250cc liquid-cooled motor which Harley calls the ‘Revolution Max’. It features a 60-degree V-twin layout which was first seen on the V-Rod power cruiser. On the contrary, most of the Harleys currently get 45-degree-inclined powerplant. The new Revolution Max is capable of churning out 143bhp of max power and 122Nm of peak torque.
Like other adventure bikes in the market, the Pan America too gets upswept exhaust, knuckle guards, tall windscreen and bash plate. The bike also sports long travel suspension setup comprising of inverted forks-monoshock. It rides on spoke wheels that are shod with knobby Michelin tyres. Braking hardware has been sourced from Brembo with twin discs up front and a single disc at the rear.
We are expecting the Pan America to hit the Indian market sometime next year and when it happens, it is bound to create a lot of excitement.
